Easter Weekend, Together

A couple of weeks ago, I had decided I would travel to Montana State to spend Easter with a very close friend of mine. Little did I know that Julia was planning to visit me during Easter weekend!

Every time I am with Julia, the time flies by, and I miss her so much the moment she leaves.

This is a different kind of blog post—something a little more fun, and a way for me to journal everything Julia and I did. I thought I'd share it with you!

Here are a few moments from our sister weekend, our first time being away from home for Easter:

Good Friday, April 3
5:05 pm | I picked Julia up from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport in the Mazda.
5:32 pm | We drove to Cava in downtown Birmingham and both ordered the Greek salad from there. We highly recommend!
6:04 pm | It wouldn't be a sister weekend without some shopping. We stopped at Alabama Outdoors!
6:44 pm | Back at Samford's campus, we took an evening stroll over to the sorority houses and to the "Harry Potter" bridge.

7:16 pm | Julia decided to do a one-handed cartwheel on the Quad. I sat and watched her from an Adirondack chair.
8:30 pm | Took a quick trip to Trader Joe's for some snacks! Try the TJ's tortilla chili lime chips. Another recommendation from us two!

Saturday, April 4
7:45 am |
I woke up to the sun peeking behind the blinds.
10:40 am | I woke up again because Julia finally got up. I guess I had accidentally fell back asleep!
11:30 am | Julia and I drove to Vestavia Nutrition. She got the Peach Passion loaded tea and I got the Chanel beauty drink.
12:00 pm | We arrived to Black Creek Park to explore and go on a walk! I brought my peppermint essential oil spray to keep the wasps and bees away. We chatted and walked about 2 miles and then decided it was too hot.
1:18 pm | Arrived at Samford. Took a walk down to the cafeteria, chatted with my roommate back in the dorm, and enjoyed leftovers from Cava.
2:15 pm | Arrived at O'Neal Library in Mountain Brook.
4:27 pm | Back at campus, we got ready in the dorm for dinner reservations made for Culinary Dropout at the Summit.
5:54 pm | Julia and I enjoyed a dinner outside. It was a beautiful night despite the slight rain!

8:34 pm |
Took a trip to Mountain Brook Creamery to share a delicious Italian ice!
9:20 pm | Drove to Hodges Chapel on Samford's campus. We played piano and harmonized on some of our favorite worship songs.
9:40 pm | Julia got scared in Hodges because she said it was eerie in there (it wasn't) and we ran through the rain back to the Mazda.

Easter Sunday, April 5
8:30 am | Julia and I enjoyed a slow morning and got ready for church.
10:40 am | We left Samford and headed to Shades Mountain Baptist.
11:00 am | On the second floor of the church, we met up with two of my friends and sat next to them for the service. What a beautiful message on John 20:24-29!
1:15 pm | Julia and I shared a morning brunch with my friends at First Watch.
2:35 pm | With our Bibles, Summer Berry Waterloos, and a bag of popped microwave popcorn, Julia and I did a Bible study in the sunshine just outside of my dorm.
4:45 pm exactly | I waved goodbye to Julia at the airport...

And just like that, it was over.

Weekends like this always go by quick, but I think this one will stay with me for a while.

Until next time,
Alexa
